Meet Jenny

Oh, friend. It’s so good to meet you.

In a time when it’s harder than ever to look reality in the eye, I offer people the courage to show up authentically to all of life’s complexities. As an author and speaker, I believe we cultivate resilience and healing when we move through stories of fear and avoidance toward a posture of curiosity and creative awareness. Drawing on my own life experience, I treat sensitive topics like mental health, perfectionism, burnout, and grief with disarming humor and grace, offering hope that the way to wholeness is often right through the heart of the hard things.

An ordained United Methodist pastor, I live in the Pacific Northwest with my husband and two children.

I’ve been a writer since elementary school. Something about the written word connects me to the deepest parts of myself. After winning a few awards writing for my high school newspaper in Anchorage, Alaska, I went on to discern a call to serve as a pastor in the United Methodist Church.

After a college degree, getting married, and getting my master’s degree, my husband and I traveled back to Alaska to serve several churches. Our two kids, Isabella and Wesley, were born in Alaska before we traveled south to Washington state so I could serve a church as lead pastor. I loved telling stories, helping churches organize around beautiful visions, and nurturing the divine in every human. During the pandemic, I moved to a different church and served as co-pastor, before transitioning into full-time writing and speaking for a season.

I hope this spot on the internet feels like a deep breath. If it feels like you've been holding your breath for years, I'm here to help you exhale.

Because that’s what I hope for you. Everything you need is inside the deepest soul breath you can summon in this season.

We’re just walking each other home. Learning to trust yourself can be a hard path. I'd be honored to journey alongside you.
